Meet Our Staff
At Competent Care, we recognize that skills,
dedication and compassion are needed to
provide quality skilled home care. Our mission is
to improve the quality of life and level of
independence for every client and his or her
family.
Competent Care Home Health Nursing was
founded in 1988. A few years later,
Competent Caregiving was started because
there were few companies we felt comfortable in
recommending after our clients no longer
needed skilled home health care.
We use care in choosing our RNs, LVNs, PTs,
OTs and STs. We believe our health care
professionals are an extension of your family;
therefore, each are screened and evaluated
carefully for your safety and protection. Every
effort is made to ensure compatibility with you
and your family members.
Lynette LaRoche, RN, BSN

Lynette became an RN in 1971 and later earned
a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the
University of Phoenix. As CEO of this company
and Competent Caregiving, Lynette
oversees all services provided to our clients.
With more than 35 years of nursing experience
in several capacities, Lynette has focused on
providing the next generation of home nursing
and caregiving by building contractual
partnerships with insurance companies, care
coordinators and third party administrators.
Denise Kennard, RN
Vice President
Denise began her career in 1990 as a field nurse
with Competent Care Home Health Nursing. She
later served as Nursing Supervisor and Director
of Patient Care Services managing case
coordination and increased our long term
private duty cases.
With more than 20 years of experience in home
health nursing, her specialties lie in serving
clients with catastrophic injuries and illnesses
who are ventilator- dependent. Under her
guidance, we focus on the full range of home
health care - from complex cases and difficult
family situations to clients who simply need
occasional caregiving.
Sharon Niederhaus, RN
Administrator

experience in private home care management,
personnel management, training, recruiting, and
acquisitions of other home care companies. She
was the CAHSAH Chair for the Board of
Directors from 2006-08 and has served on
various committees since 1990. Under her
leadership, we expect to grow our census,
expand the geographic coverage, and increase
recruitment.
